First Haircut

On Sunday Evelyn had her first hair cut.

We have been talking about cutting her hair for a long time, and now that she could sit on her hair in the tub it was time.

A salon in down town Portland was having a day to support Locks of Love and anyone donating 10" inches or more of hair got a free haircut and style. We had been talking to Evelyn about Locks of Love and what they do for other children her age who are sick and have to take medicine that makes them lose their hair, so this was perfect!
We took her down and they gave her the full treatment, hand massage and "product" and all. When the girl told Evelyn she was going to go get some product and that she'd be right back Evelyn wrinkled up her nose and said, " What's product?"

Evelyn was a little nervous at the beginning just with anticipation. But I was the one who was caught off guard, when I saw her baby curls lying on the desk I got quite teary eyed...

And here she is, my baby girl. She's a big kid now!

You're Little for a Little While

"It's a big world baby, and you're little for a little while..."

How I wish I could grab onto her tiny-ness and save it!

I love the little sounds she makes while sleeping,

I love her little toes and perfect little hands.

I love how she scrunches up into a little ball on my shoulder and her little tush fits in the palm of my hand.

I love that the pad of my thumb is bigger than her ear while I'm cradling her little head.

I love how her soft whispy hair tickles my face when she's nestled under my chin.
