I do so love my husband and the fact that we have chosen to stay nice and close to our parents! Andy used Gramma's house wisely last night when he noticed I was loosing it from lack of sleeping through an entire night since, well, who knows? So he called up Gramma and we dropped Evelyn off for the night.
Evelyn kicked us out waving to us and saying, "bye Mom" (if she could she would have added, "Go already! I have movies to watch and special treats to eat while snuggling with my Gramma!)
Andy then took me out to eat and we went home and walked to the video store, something we have never done together. We watched a movie, stayed up and had a conversation (! :) wow, actual dialogue!) and then fell asleep. I didn't get up to check if Evelyn had contorted herself into the corner of her bed and threw all her covers off, I didn't have to get up at 2:00am to see why she was making that awful, continuous whine sound, I didn't have to get up at 4:30am to change a wet pull-up and I didn't have to haul myself out of bed at 7:00am to make a breakfast for a toddler who is NOT a morning person (much like her Daddy).
So, THANK YOU to my dear husband and THANK YOU to my dear Mom for a wonderful, uninterrupted nights sleep.

Yay for sleep! I'm glad you got a break so that you could get rested. Aren't great mothers and mothers-in-law amazing?!
So... do you have to be blood to cash in on the Gramma C over night special? I"m thinking that we could really do this right and have Gramma C watch the cousins one night and Russ and Judy the other night and the 4 of us go away for the weekend... and while we are dreaming.. lets have it be the beach, and the guys order us breakfast in bed and let us watch chick flicks... and go to the spa without any mocking what so ever.... and we could have guilt free mocha all day long! ahhhh I'm relaxed just thinking about it- Good for you! Maybe on second thought we should break in the grandparents a bit slower.. maybe one kid's kids at a time? AT least for now.. hee hee!
There's a great little book of 'wisdom for mothers and daughters'...one quote is "encourage her to spend time with her grandmother. For some strange reason, they get along fine." So, yes, the darling child slept beside me like an angel,(if angels snore), said " I love you Gramma" even before she woke up, and indulged me by wearing MY favorite dress! xoxo Gramma C
oh Debbie I like the way you think!
