Spring Happenings

It's Spring, the flowers are blooming, the weeds are popping, and the skunks are spraying. So we have spent the last week living with Gramma Claire and Andy has been diligently airing out the house and washing laundry. He got rid of the skunk smell, our house still doesn't smell like our old house but it doesn't send us running the other way. Mostly, it smells like a pot of cleaning supplies.
Evelyn is happy to be home, but loved the time she got to spend at Gramma's house. We made a new discovery while living there, home made PIZZA! The recipe for the dough could not get any easier, and if you need proof- I made a pizza by MYSELF with Evelyn and didn't screw it up!
We have made it 4 times now since last Saturday, at Evelyn's request, and each pie tastes totally different. Mom has had this baking stone for years and never really knew what could be done with it. She has been getting to know some people at her job and one of the teachers was telling her all the things that you can do with this stone. Pizza is one of the easiest things in the world to make on this stone. We have made it with red sauce, white sauce, BBQ chicken, Italian sausage, asparagus, yellow and green peppers...... it's been really fun. And it's a much tastier way to eat left overs than casserole.
Thank You Mom for letting us take over your house for a week, and for all the pizza! And for letting me sleep in while you played with Evelyn :)

And for your birthday dinner, we will NOT have Pizza!
I miss having you all here, and hearing endles stories of some other make believe cat that has taken over Evelyn's imagination; Buster the cat sometimes is blue, and sometimes he is a she.
It always makes for a good story with a surprise ending!
