The day has finally arrived. Although Evelyn never really knew what she was waiting for because this was to be her first true Halloween experience since the past two years she was too little to participate. We were invited over to our friends house for a Halloween get together and trick or treating adventure. Evelyn caught on FAST. Lets just say she was a quick study. Once she realized that all she had to do was walk up to the various front doors and mumble a little "trick or treat" and then say "thanks" to get candy she was hooked and lead the pack by running ahead saying, "Lets go to anover house!" followed by a " come on guys." Quote of the night happened after coming back to the house. Daddy unwrapped a Tootsie Pop and handed it to Evelyn and she said, "oh, it's perfect!" right before popping into her mouth.
Earlier this week we took her to the zoo to take a look at her costume inspiration. The penguins are always her favorite exhibit at the zoo (and luckily a very easy costume to put together- I forked over $1.75 for the whole thing) and we can't go without stopping in. When we went on Tuesday, the penguins were super active and really interested in Evelyn. They kept swimming up to her and one even hopped up next to the glass to get a better look. They knew she was a kindred spirit apparently.
Her costume had to go through a little bit of an upgrade. While we were at the zoo she was wearing Daddy's bow tie from his tux. It fell off somewhere between the penguin house and the polar bears and could not be found. I was not pleased to put it mildly. Why would someone pick up a bow tie that clearly had been lost and take it?! OOOOhhhh, don't get me started. Needless to say, when we got home I had to make some additions to keep the bow tie look and luckily, I think it helped the costume in the end.

LOL I'm glad she had a good time. Sorry about the bow tie, but your fix-it job does look great!
