We are flooded out of our house ...again. Evelyn and I have spent the last two nights at my Mom's house. Last year we (Evelyn and I) moved in with my Mom for some time, nearly two weeks I think, also because our back room had flooded. At that time it was still our bedroom, we had to completely empty the room and they stripped the floor down to the concrete slab and replaced the carpet and pad underneath. Now the back room is our office/familyroom/Andy's man-cave and there is a lot more at stake if the room gets to any of the furniture as most of it is electronic stuff.
This year after getting over 2 inches of rain in 24 hours we are soggy again, but not as bad as last time, we hope. Andy pulled back the carpet and ripped out the wet pad and our land lord has brought over new pad, though we are supposed to get more flood worthy amounts of rain in the next 3 days so we are going to wait and make sure we're in the clear. Andy has more to tell about the whole thing on his blog if you want to see his thoughts on the matter.
So for now we are making due. Evelyn is sick too. We shared a little more than fun times and love with our cousins I'm afraid, she has a very similar sounding hacking cough. No worries, it is that time of year and I am taking her into the doc later on today.
UPDATING theUpdate:
We're home! The carpet is dried out and all is dry.... for now. Pray that we don't get more flooding in the next storm coming in. We just got back from the doctors with antibiotics. Evelyn has a sinus infection and bronchitus so I'm really glad I got her in today and didn't wait. I go back to work tomorrow but Evelyn gets to stay home with Daddy so she will be able to rest and get well.

Poor Evelyn. Hope you feel better soon! Good job taking her in. A mother's instincts...I tell ya!
I'm glad you made it back to your house! I hope the damage is minimal, if any. And that Evelyn feels better soon...
So sorry that we shared! I took Hope back today for a re-check up and she is doing much better.... the 3 drug combo that the Doctor gave her really did the trick.... however, Haley has an ear infection and is now starting her round of antibiotics! We too are flooding! School has been closed and they are evacuating all around us- I just hope we keep power. They have closed I-5 so I guess Scott will be with you for a few more days! Geesh! Is this crazy or what? Hang in there! And give Evelynie a hug from us!
Hi Evlynie, Brigetta and Scout!
It sure is quiet around here!!!
It sounds funny, but it sure is cute to find a tiny pair of fairy undies in my laundry!
Love you lots! Gramma C.
Ahhh, winter doldrums. A veritable classic in the Pacific Northwest! So sorry to hear about dear little E and I hope you and Andy stay well! The house, the house! Yikes! I'm so glad your mom is able to help out! Hang in there. This too shall pass!
