There are 3 "milestone" days I look forward to when pregnant.
The first is how we are going to tell family that we are, in fact, having a baby.
Second, the day we are able to see if it's a boy or girl and then the subsequent reveal to family.
The third day is the actual birthday (which i would really rather find some way to skip, but sadly I have a feeling that's not an option).
We found out we were pregnant in early January, or rather, I confirmed my suspicion that we were pregnant in early January.
I have joined the club of woman who say without a doubt they felt something the moment they became pregnant. Actually, I know I felt the embryo implant itself as clear as I can now feel this little one doing flips. That was December 30, 2009. Evelyn and I were laying down for a "quiet time" in our big bed. I was being a lot quieter than Evelyn and was laying with my eyes closed and thought Evelyn had nudged me with her foot. When I opened my eyes, I realized I was laying with my back to her and she was way over on the other side of the bed. It was the fist time, and not the last that I felt my baby. I didn't get conclusive evidence on a stick until a couple weeks later.
We invited our parents, my sister, and Andy's aunt over for a pizza party. We ordered 3 pizza's, but got 4 boxes. There was one box that was "the Special" with a surprise.
Last week, we had big day number 2~ and have the exciting news that it's a baby sister for Evelyn! Two girls, we are so excited. Andy says he can keep saying he loves his girls, and I'm included in that group as his #1 girl. Evelyn has been able to tell the news to most of those we are closest to. She gets a bashful smile on her face and announces, "I'm going to have a baby sister!" and then usually melts into a big bear hug from whomever has just heard the news. She's nervous about it now, but I have a feeling she is going to embrace her new role with gusto when the time comes.

"There once were two sisters who in many ways were different. One was big, one was little. One liked to wear two different colored socks, one didn't like to wear shoes or socks at all...."
I can't wait to see Evelyn and her sister together and see how they are different and how they are the same. When we were in the UltraSound, the technician commented, "oh you don't see this everyday. Your baby here is very flexible." Sure enough, there she was folded in half with her feet next to her face, legs crossed at the ankles. Definite confirmation that she is my kid, and one thing she and Evelyn already have in common. My kids are bendable. My kid-s, plural. My girls.
